Matchups, times and how to watch NFL Thanksgiving games

The second game for the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field in as many weeks sees Buffalo on Thanksgiving for the third time in four years. When playing the Lions on Thanksgiving, though, the Bills have yet to win. However, these are very different teams since they last met in 1994.
MORE: Why Do Lions Play Thanksgiving?
Buffalo has struggled overall lately, ending a two-game skid in a closer-than-expected game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11. Meanwhile, the Lions played some of the most inspired football games of the season, hoping to push the Detroit win streak to five. A Bills loss seems entirely out of the question, but Detroit should at least cover it and keep it close.
- Giants versus cowboys
- Time: 4:30 PM ET
- Channel: FOX
- Live broadcast: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FOX Now
How about a divisional Thanksgiving showdown? Well, that’s what the NFL has in store for the championship in the second of three NFL Thanksgiving games. For the second time in NFL history and the first time since 1992, the NFC East showdown between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys will take place on Turkey Day.
Dallas and Washington have played each other eight times on Thanksgiving, the most games between NFC East opponents. The Giants game in 2022 means the Cowboys have faced New York and Philadelphia twice each on Thanksgiving Day in NFL history.
The Cowboys demolished the Vikings a week ago. With the Giants reeling after a bad loss to the Lions, can Dallas take a one game lead over New York as they continue to chase the Eagles? Both teams have been susceptible to rushing, but Tony Pollard’s performance a week ago should worry New York.
- Patriots versus Vikings
- Time: 8:20 PM ET
- Live broadcast: NBC Sports, Peacock TV
The final Thanksgiving game may not instill the utmost confidence in Vikings fans as Kirk Cousins is forced to play in prime time. Last week’s 40-3 run by the Cowboys put the 8-1 Vikings back on Earth, ending a seven-game hitting streak. Minnesota went away from the bread and butter, running football. Dalvin Cook had only 11 touches and the team had 17 rushing attempts.
Don’t expect Minnesota to be held out of the end zone for consecutive weeks. However, while the offense was a disappointment, the defense was problematic all season.
The Patriots have the second worst redzone offense in the league, yet they face the worst redzone defense in the NFL. The Vikings allowed touchdowns in the red zone a staggering 71% of the time.
If Kevin O’Connell can manipulate the game script in Minnesota’s favor, forcing Mac Jones to keep up with the Vikings’ high-octane offense will likely result in some turnovers and stranded drives. Then again, if Minnesota lets New England throw the ball down their throat and eat the clock, the Vikings are in for a long and awkward night.
