The Bengals are heating up
The Bengals got revenge on the Steelers for Week 1 on Sunday, winning 37-30 and splitting the season series. Cincinnati is now 4-1 in their last 5 games, with only Monday night’s stunning upset against the Browns breaking that record. Considering the absence of WR Ja’Marr Chase, who has missed the last 3 games with a groin injury, they played very well. Chase is close to returning and could be available for this week’s game against the Titans. His availability is critical to the Bengals’ success.
Cincinnati’s schedule is tough for the rest of the season. They play the 7-3 Titans and then the 8-2 Chiefs next week. After that, they have the Browns, who have already blown them out, but with Deshaun Watson at QB. Then they have Tom Brady and the Bucks.

After a road game at Tampa Bay, they’ll head up the coast to play Brady’s former team, the 6-4 Patriots. In the end, Cincinnati finishes the season with 7-3 Bills and 7-3 Ravens. If they win enough games to make the postseason, they will certainly deserve it.
The Titans are closing in on a division title
The Titans picked up another win on Thursday and are now 7-1 in their last 8 games. They beat the Packers 27-17 to improve to 7-3 on the season. The Colts’ loss extended Tennessee’s AFC South division lead to 3 games. They now have a 97% chance of winning the division, which would be their 3rd division title in a row. Unfortunately, the Titans lost their first game in each of their playoff games. In 2020, they lost to the Ravens. Last season they lost to the Bengals. It could be their revenge game.
The Tennessee team is similar to the playoff teams this season. Derrick Henry elevates the subpar passing game and a tough defense shuts him down. It worked in the regular season, but it wasn’t enough in the postseason, and the loss of WR AJ Brown made things even more difficult this year. Chief among them is Ryan Tannehill, who Tennessee has combined for a 6-game winning streak. He was 22-for-27 for 333 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT in Sunday’s win and should be just as sharp this week.
Bengals vs Titans Prediction and Picks
We saw a similar matchup in last season’s AFC Divisional Round, with the Bengals traveling to Tennessee to host the Titans. They’ll get their revenge this week, with the Titans hoping to turn the tide this time around. Unfortunately, the Bengals have a talented roster that should give them the edge. Cincinnati should focus on Derrick Henry. If they can do that, they should win, especially if Ja’Marr Chase returns this week.
